Nice to meet you!

About HeidiHi! I’m Hyd. Heidi Claunch, that is, and I am a web designing, word-pressing, video gaming, arts-and-crafting, scrapbooking, photo-taking, movie-going, nature loving, bird watching, tea drinking, cupcake baking, cookie eating, cat napping, peace loving, rockstaring, kind of girl.

I love new technology, gadgetry, and geeking-out over the latest and greatest web awesomeness. Technology is a marvelous thing. It has the power to bring people instantly together, even when they are thousands of miles apart. I take pride in being a part that huge digital community and being able to help others to connect, one website at a time. =)

A History of Heidi

I grew up in a small town in southeast Idaho. Ever since I was a wee babe I have had the heart of an artist. Over the years, my mediums evolved from crayons and watercolor paintings into digital illustration and web design.

This passion drove my life and eventually brought me to the sunny skies of Phoenix Arizona in 2002 to attend art college at the Art Institute of Phoenix. Having a particular fancy for comics and cartoons, I started out majoring in animation. On my free time, between homework and LAN parties I taught myself HTML and started playing around with making websites. I soon found that I had a new love for web design and switched majors to pursue this new path.

Four years later I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Multimedia and Web Design. I was awarded “Best in Show” for my final portfolio review, which ended up lading me a job right out of college working for a local web design company. While there, I went from being the sole web designer to leading a team of designers as the company grew. I’ve designed and built over 200 websites and logos for a variety of clients around the Valley.

I’ve also worked as a freelance designer since college, taking on projects of my own (many of which you can see here) before landing an awesome gig at the locally owned popular women’s website SheKnows.com where I currently am now.

While I don’t freelance full-time anymore, I still like to take on projects because I love what I do and I love making people happy by giving them a presence online.
